Dr. Tennity received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1992 from the Doctor William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He finished his surgical residency at Norwegian American Hospital, Chicago, in 1993, and is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.  He is the past president of the Nebraska Podiatric Medical Association, a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is a member of the American and Nebraska Podiatric Medical Associations.  Dr. Tennity was recently appointed to the State of Nebraska Board of Health by Governor Heineman.
